Paint that nobody will see on interior metal parts?

Removed some interior parts and found some minor rust/corrosion (see photo). While I've got things disassembled figured I'd scrape off the rust and repaint so the rust doesn't get any worse. Any recommendations for this kinda paint? I know nobody will see it, but I'll know it's there and might as well find something original-ish looking and durable so it doesn't need to be done again. Or maybe there's some standard to use for these and other hidden pieces of interior parts?

Wire brush it well, apply a rust converter & in your shoes I'd use POR 15 (black) as the part won't see the sun so doesn't need to be top coated

For brackets and stuff like this I generally use ordinary air drying black enamel (ADE) brushed on - takes ages to dry but it's tough and the part will be well protected.

I would definitely brush off the loose rust and paint it. I typically use rattle can Rust-Oleum for this sort of application. Sure, POR15 is more bullet proof, but honestly, areas like this that aren't exposed to salt spray will be good for another 50 years after a couple light coasts of R-O. Satin black would be my choice of color.

Ditto what Jay said. Any high solids black paint will do, preferably in matte/satin. There’s a wide range of choices from low end stuff at your local auto parts store or Harbor Freight at under $10 for an 11oz rattle can to over $20 for something from Eastwood.

FWIW, I repainted my suspension parts over 20 years ago with regular OTC chassis black or rustoleum and it’s still holding up great. This was when these cars weren’t being scrutinized underneath like they are today on BaT and the peanut gallery oohs and aahs the freshly painted undercarriages and powder coated underpinnings… oh, for the good old days…

LOL the part of the BaT crowd that complains when it is painted (what is it covering up…or…that’s not a factory finish) and when it isn’t painted (shows signs of surface corrosion the entire car is suspect…or…what has happened to the factory finish). I follow BaT but really that stuff is annoying, especially when it is just an honest car that nobody is gonna send out bolts and washers to be re-plated. I admit it, some of the clamps in my engine compartment are not roma-block.

I'm not sure whether to ban you for a week or cancel your membership ... have to run this past the other administrators. Non roma-block hose clamps ... tst, tst

I'm now worried because Peter A has not posted anything since my above post

Are you sure I have not posted LOL. Other crimes? I hacked the under bumper air intake on my Milano and yanked the fog light buckets to install Hella driving and fog lights.
