Der Internationale Rossfeld Bergpreis occured 23 to 25 September 2022 again. Finally, after 2 years of delay due to COVID. This is taken at the car presentation in Berchtesgaden in the pedestrian zone on Friday. On the following 2 days there was a chance to race up the closed road on 6 occasions. A lot of fun ! I need to try and find some fotos along the track. Was too busy on the wheel...

I am contemplating once again to reinstate the external fuel filler cap that the car was originally equipped with when with Edgar Berney in 1958, and that Mr Rammensee welded closed during the restauration in the early 80s. Here's an enlarged section of one of the fotos of Edgar Berney's car in Antoine Kohler's very beautiful 50 years Giulietta booklet. Does anyone recognise the fuel filler type that is used here ? Not an Aston type, I think. Maybe a Monza ? Roller type ? Not sure...

Fantastic stuff Tim, I love that you just keep using your little Jewel

Thanks a lot ! It is a lot of fun to run the car, and in particular the trip to Vernesca Silver Flag was an eye opener. The appreciation by the mainly Italian participatants for the SVZ was remarkable...

Is it only my impression, or are we running a bit out of steam in this chat ?

My 2 Euro's worth on an external fuel cap is that it would spoil the beautiful flowing lines of the car. It's just so beautifully 'visually balanced' as it is.

But it's your car & that's how Edgar Berney raced it, so the decision is yours & I will support either way

Hello to you all.
I will sanction the opinion, that you shall continue to support this forum Tim.
It is always pleasant to new pictures of your car, and you activity’s around in the Alpes.
It keeps the tread a live, there is much more, to come hopefully.
I do hope that we will have some information, on the progress on the restauration on chassis 04249.
But Tim, If I was in you shoos, I would consider to harm such a beautiful “bud” as you see on the picture that Richards has uploaded of #08780.
Attach picture of 2 Le Mans cars with Monza Fly off filler cap. And an other of 08780, the right side.
It is you decision, so all the best.

Thank you Tim.
But i got my file opened. And I think that my script fra 2016, 60 years anniversary. Does deserve an update in connection with 70 years in 2026.
When the file was open, I looked in some of the old Giulietta Winter 2004 .
And there was article on “La Goccia”
I think that it deserves a Weider distribution. It shoves that, if you own a desirable SVZ. There are now, reason, to forget the others. And the writer is a well-known person.
All the best to you all.

Bjarke, don't remind me of that. What I considered "top price" at the time of writing in hindsite would have been a steel: 50k EUR plus 5k EUR commission plus 35k EUR mechanics and steel work restauration (is what Oliver Vetter charged) - all in 2004. 90k EUR to own the Goccia. Not such a clever decision not to buy it... I hesitated. I was young... but hey, life continues...
